Durban – Treble Group is proud to have managed and delivered another successful Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk. Partnering with Discovery and East Coast Radio, Treble were once again able to unite 30,000 of KZN’s community on Durban’s picturesque promenade, in what was another unforgettable experience.
Treble’s delivered a successful media and communications solution, managing the event social media platforms, website and contact centre, as well as coordinating the event supplement which appeared in the Daily News.
This year’s Big Walk saw the well-received introduction of the 5km Fun Run, which attracted a field of just over 3,500 participants. The event managers wanted to offer something fun to the more face-paced entrants and it was welcomed with warm hands and hot feet!
A key part of the Big Walk experience is staging a fun, interactive and unforgettable experience for the walkers, from before their start to long after their finish. We worked with partners to deliver a highly-crafted branding and staging solution, beginning at uShaka Marine World, where participants started their walk with live entertainment and a distinct vibe of unity. We continued the experience by managing water table activations all along the route and ended the walk with an engaging and picturesque finish at Moses Mabhida Stadium that rounded-off the walkers’ feeling of community. We then welcomed participants into People’s Park to celebrate their finish, with a variety of food and beverage options (starting with an ice-cold, complimentary aQuellé) and live entertainment by East Coast Radio and Virgin Active. We also managed the corporate hospitality solution, giving companies and organisations their own exclusive spots to unwind and cool down after their team-building experience.
