Treble Group keeping busy in 2011
For many in the Sports industry, the end of 2010 marked the conclusion of one of the most significant years in SA Sporting history with many predicting tough times ahead for those in the market.
Treble Group has bucked this trend by continuing to keep busy despite the concerns within the local sphere. The company has already been busy with several projects that have seen the company continue to grow its presence in the South Africa sporting landscape.
At the turn of the year the Treble Group announced the signing of DHL as the new principle sponsor of WP Rugby. As the brokers of the deal, Treble Group has been there all the way as this new relationship gets under way with the 2011 season. It has been an exciting time for all with WP Rugby enjoying rude health both on and off the field, in no small part thanks to the efforts of DHL and the Treble Group.
The annual Neo Africa Tri-Series returned in late January with the DHL Stormers, the Lions and the Sharks doing battle in a pre-season tournament at DHL Newlands. Treble Group took complete control of the event organising everything from team transportation, to press conferences and the glamorous welcome launch event that took place at Quay Four. FNB were also brought on board as a sponsor of the tournament by Treble Group as the event built on the success of 2010 with exciting rugby and huge crowds at Newlands.
One of Treble Group’s most successful supporter club schemes, Club Newlands, the official supporters club of the DHL Stormers and WP, has also been very active in 2011 with the Club Newlands Sleepover that takes place over night on the Newlands pitch and the Kickoff Party – which is an opportunity for the whole squad to be introduced to fans – at Trinity in Green Point both taking place in February. Both events were huge successes and were thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended, including Mansoor Mohamed, Executive Direcor of Economic Social Devlopment and Tourism at the City of Cape Town who attended the Kickoff Party. With a packed year ahead including the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk in Durban, The Discovery Cape Times Big Walk in Cape Town and the IRB Rugby World Cup, Treble Group will continue to make waves throughout the industry in 2011.
