Commercialising Stadia, Increasing Sponsor Value, Growing Audiences, Creating Unique Supporter Experiences and Developing Talent.
Treble has a wealth of experience and expertise in the world of football. Individually, our football team have been key players in the sport for decades, centrally involved with shaping and influencing the commercial development of the beautiful game around the globe. We have long-standing relationships with football rights holders, leading clubs, players and sponsors, and an in-depth knowledge of the football pyramid ranging from national teams right down to nurturing young talent at the grassroots level.
Collectively, Treble has a proven football pedigree in the areas of commercial rights, stadium commercialisation, sponsorship sales and activation, brand-development, individual player management and football academies. We have worked with a large number of top-flight clubs, advising them on commercial rights and valuations, creating sponsorship and licensing programmes, and developing marketing and commercial strategies.
Treble’s football team includes:
Keith Harris
Formerly Chairman of the Football League and a director of Wembley National Stadium Ltd, Keith has unrivalled contacts throughout the football world. He has successful track-record of working with stadium owners and club owners to commercialise, market and generate additional revenues from their core assets. As well as overseeing the £450 Million funding programme for the rebuilding of Wembley Stadium, Keith was also the powerbroker responsible for Roman Abramovich’s purchase of Chelsea. He has been involved with numerous other Premier League takeovers, including Manchester United, West Ham and Aston Villa and is retained as a commercial advisor by several major clubs.
Selwyn Lewis
Selwyn was a part-owner FC Fortune, which, in 1999, was appointed as Manchester United's official youth development partner in Southern Africa. In this role, he helped to create and manage a series of football academies, identifying and nurturing the most promising young football talent in Africa, the best of whom were then "promoted" to the United School of Excellence in Manchester. The figurehead for this programme was the South African international Quinton Fortune, whose transfer from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United in August 1999 was arranged and negotiated by Treble. Building on this foundation, Selwyn created an experiential marketing programme to develop the Manchester United brand in Africa, structured around exhibition games and official Manchester United Soccer Schools. Manchester United also appointed Treble as the Club's official commercial partner and awarded Treble the South African commercial rights in respect of all merchandising, retail, media and database sectors.
Ian Flanagan
Ian has worked with numerous European football clubs, advising on commercial strategy, rights valuations, brand-building and sponsorship. He was part of the management team on the Team England commercial programme (the packaging and marketing of the players’ collective image rights, liaising with the FA, the FA Partner Sponsors and the England Team) for several years. He holds a players agent license and represented Philippe Senderos in his transfer to Arsenal. He has also worked with high-profile individual players including Rivaldo and Roberto Carlos, creating merchandising and licensing programmes and has also gained significant experience of emerging football markets, particularly in the Far East. In this capacity he has worked with top-level clubs on pre-season tours, exhibition games, media deals and twinning relationships with Chinese and Indian clubs.
